Accounts Assistant

Contract: Full Time
Salary: £26,000 per annum
We are looking for a motivated and forward-thinking Accounts Assistant to join our Finance Team located at Champneys Tring.
Working within a focused Accounts team this is an integral position supporting the Champneys Group’s operational and financial performance. The successful candidate will have responsibility for the processing of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash and General Ledger transactions in accordance with the relevant controls and procedures.
Main duties and responsibilities of an Accounts Assistant include;
- Receipting purchase invoices from suppliers
- Maintaining a high attention to detail, matching purchase invoices to Purchase Orders, ensuring that purchase order has been correctly approved
- Coding and data entry of purchase invoices onto purchase ledger and preparation of purchase ledger payment runs
- Maintenance of supplier account information (contact details, bank details etc.) and reconciliation of supplier accounts including resolution of any queries and disputes
- Month-end and year-end purchase ledger procedures and reconciliations
- Aged Creditor management and variance analysis reporting
- Processing online payments through banking portal, and processing of Direct Debit and Standing Order processing.
- Downloading and importing bank statements into accounting software
- Posting of cashbook entries and reconciliation of bank accounts
- Reconciliation of cash clearing accounts and issue resolution
- Posting cash receipts against sales ledger accounts.
- Processing Petty cash declarations
- Redeeming Voucher transactions.
- Raising invoices, cash collection and debt chasing
- Assisting with aged debtor reporting, reconciliation, and variance analysis
- Processing General Ledger Journals
The successful candidate will have experience working within a multisite organization, processing high volume low value accounts.
They will be proficient in the use of accounting software and Microsoft Office suite with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and written. It is important within this role that you are numerically savvy, and demonstrate high standards, and great attention to detail.
